The 12 Breaths Meditation Program
Practice Notes:
The 12 Breaths is a simple way to start your meditation practice. I will be sharing more meditations each month. Simply read the text and chant the Mantra. I have included a link to my 5 minute musical miracle medication timer, to help you stay focused.
Any of these meditations can be used for your daily practice. You can also keep utilizing the same meditation for a weekly or monthly practice. Be your own guide as to what you need. Experiment. Write to me with questions. The only thing to be aware of is that it is best not to use more than one meditation as part of your daily practice. It takes time for these meditations to settle in your body. Give them time. Allow them to do their work. Think of each of them as a seed. A seed of Love and Forgiveness.
Also, exhaling for a few seconds longer than you inhale has been known to have the effect of sending relaxing messages to your autonomic nervous system. A very simple way to try this is to breath in for a count of four and exhale for a count of six.
5 Minute Miracle™ Timer
January Meditation I - I Share My Blessings With You - with gratitude
Friends:
What if I reminded you that your function in the world was to forgive and share your blessings/gifts. And that inside you, you have everything you need to accomplish these functions. And lastly I shared with you, that the salvation of the world depends on you fulfilling these functions. And that Holy Spirit walks beside you and will provide any support you need. Well I am reminding you.
I am here to say, Play Big and Be Who You are.
Today You will lift up the world one soul at a time.
Find your quiet place. Set your 5 minute timer.
Close your eyes, calm your mind. Yes, thoughts will keep coming. Just let them flow. Take a Big Breath, in through your nose, down past the Throat Center, in past the Heart Center, and into your belly. Feel your belly rise with each breath and fall with each exhale that traces the steps up past your Heart, caressing your Throat, and out your mouth. When you are feeling centered and strong, bring to mind one of the people you share your life with.
A friend, loved one, colleague. Now look them in the eye, take their 2 hands in yours and repeat:
I Share My Blessings With You
.
Imagine your thoughts to be like Clouds that are easily moved by your breath.
All is quiet, loving, Spiritual Harmony. Stand still, lift your vision.
One person or many may come into your mind. Stay with each but a few seconds.
Depending on what you feel in your heart you might Share Blessings/Share Forgiveness/Share Love/Share Your Gifts. Share what is most meaningful to you or what is most needed by the person you are sharing with. Be generous. When you give, you receive. Look within.
The Light is there. Power is there, strength is there. Spirit is there. Your power is there.
Breath it in and out. When you are ready to end this hourly session, simply end with
And So It Is
Try your best to repeat this mediation for 5 minutes in the mornings and evening before bed. If you can add one more session, midday, so much the better
February Meditation II - To Give & Receive are One in Truth
Before we get too far into 2025, I would like to leave you with the perfect seasonal meditation of Giving and Receiving. February beings with St. Brigid's Day. Saint Brigid's Day is a day of new beginnings, hope and renewal. A time of community healing. Both giving and receiving
Get quiet. Start to notice your breath. Your own personal cycle of breathing. Do Notice whether you breathe in through your nose or your mouth. Either is perfect, simply notice. Follow your breath down past your throat, part your heart, your lungs and then down deep into your belly (your lower lungs, your diaphragm)
With your eyes closed, take 10 deep breaths down into your belly.
Now silently repeat
“To give and receive are one in Truth, I will receive what I am given now (ACIM)”
Then close your eyes and for 5 minutes think of what you would like to share.
You might start:
To everyone I offer Love
To everyone I offer peace
To everyone…
To help you focus, you might picture one person as the representative for all.
When you are done please chant And So It Is.
I hope to see you soon!!!
Namaste
